2024 “Seghizzi” Competition

Associazione Corale Goriziana “C. A. Seghizzi” is proud to announce the 61st International Choral Singing Competition that will take place in Gorizia from July 18th to 22nd, 2024.

The Gorizia C. A. Seghizzi choir was born in November 1920 under the direction of Maestro Augusto Cesare Seghizzi.

The first “Seghizzi” Choral Singing Competition took place in 1962 and in 1963 suddenly grew an international level. Since then more than 1400 choirs and singers of 72 nations have participated in our events.

Today, beside the International Choral Competition, many events are proudly organized and presented by the group. The most important are: the International Choral and Solo voice singing competitions, and the International Choral Music Composition Competition. Every year workshops, masterclasses, exibitions, publishing activities, concerts take place thanks to the Associazione Corale Goriziana C. A. Seghizzi, who also holds a rich historic archive.

La corale goriziana C. A. Seghizzi, nasce nel novembre del 1920 sotto la direzione del M° Augusto Cesare Seghizzi.

Nel 1962 viene organizzata la prima edizione del concorso Seghizzi, che nel 1963 assume subito un carattere internazionale e si afferma sia per qualità che per varietà di partecipanti, con la presenza di oltre 1500 complessi provenienti da ogni parte del mondo.

Oggi si affiancano al concorso molte altre iniziative come: il Congresso Musicologico, il concorso internazionale di canto solistico cameristico, il Festival internazionale Seghizzinregione, il concorso internazionale di composizione corale, il Grand Prix Seghizzi, laboratori di didattica musicale, mostre d’arte, concerti monografici, attività editoriali, concerti di musica da camera e l’archivio musicale.
