Associazione Corale Goriziana
C. A. Seghizzi
The Associazione Corale Goriziana C. A. Seghizzi was founded in Gorizia in 1920 under the direction of Maestro Augusto Cesare Seghizzi.
In 1962, it organized the first edition of the “Seghizzi” International Choral Singing Competition, which as early as 1963 had already taken on an international dimension, welcoming over 1,500 participants from numerous countries.
These activities are complemented by a wide-ranging programme of cultural initiatives, including musicological conferences, the international festival “Seghizzinregione,” the Seghizzi Grand Prix, educational activities, concerts, exhibitions, and an extensive music archive.
Awarded the Medal of the
Presidency of the Republic
In 2025, the international activities promoted by the Associazione Corale Goriziana C. A. Seghizzi were awarded the Medal of the President of the Italian Republic, granted to initiatives of particular cultural significance.
