Announcement of the 24th “C. A. Seghizzi” International Vocal Chamber Music Competition for solo voice and piano

Registrations open for the 24th “C. A. Seghizzi” International Vocal Chamber Music Competition!

Gorizia prepares to welcome vocal chamber music talents from all over the world. New prestigious opportunities for winners, including a prize concert offered by Coro FVG in the Cavallerizza concert season in Udine.

GORIZIA, October 28 – The “C. A. Seghizzi” Gorizia Choral Association announces the official opening of registrations for the twenty-fourth edition of the International Vocal Chamber Music Competition for Voice and Piano, which will be held in Gorizia on July 3rd and 4th, 2027. The event is organized with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Municipality of Gorizia, and the Ca.Ri.Go. Foundation.

The competition, a longstanding benchmark for the Lied repertoire and vocal chamber music, is aimed at young talents. Competitors may participate either as an established voice-and-piano duo or as solo singers—with their own pianist or with the collaborative pianist provided by the organization.

An International Jury of Excellence

The international jury of the competition will be chaired by the Artistic Director, Maestro Eddi De Nadai. In keeping with the competition’s tradition, the names of the remaining four distinguished jury members will be announced in the coming months. Over the years, the competition has featured some of the most influential figures on the international opera and chamber music scenes, including world-renowned artists such as Christoph Prégardien and Vivica Genaux.

Key Updates and Collaborations: The New Prize Concert at the Cavallerizza

The 24th edition features an outstanding prize pool designed to offer winners concrete opportunities to enter the professional concert circuit.

Alongside monetary prizes (up to €4,000.00 for the first prize in the duo category), plaques, and diplomas, highlights include a new prestigious partnership with the Coro del Friuli Venezia Giulia: the first prize winner will be awarded a prize concert included in the concert season at the Cavallerizza in Udine, promoted by the Coro FVG itself.

This further strengthens performance opportunities, which also confirms the prize concerts included in the “Quinta Giusta” circuit—a concert network for prizewinners of international competitions held in Friuli Venezia Giulia—in addition to prize concerts offered by the Storica Società Operaia di Pordenone and the Piccolo Opera Festival del FVG.
