PRESS RELEASE SEGHIZZI SUNDAY 21 JULY 2019 – INTERNATIONAL SHRINE EVENTS
Today, Sunday 21 July, in Gorizia, the highlight of the Seghizzi events. In the morning they will accompany the Sunday Mass at 10.00 am in the Parish Church of Our Lady of Lourdes (Madonnina) the Matsue Plover Children’s Choir (Matsue, Japan) and at 11.30 am in the Gorizia Cathedral the Children’s Choir Lastivka (Kiev, Ukraine) .
In the afternoon at 15.30 the Teatro Verdi in Gorizia will host the 31st Grand Prix Seghizzi, during which the six choirs that have passed the selections of the seven categories of the 58th international competition of the Seghizzi choral singing. These are financially important prizes, but above all for musical prestige.

At 8.45 pm, again in the Teatro Verdi, the awards ceremony of the winning choirs of the competition categories will take place. Among the many special prizes it is worth recalling the one assigned to Rachid Safir: the 15th International Seghizzi Award “A life for choral conducting” and also the prize in memory of Mauro Chiocci, for many years generous collaborator of Seghizzi competitions, assigned to the best children’s choir. At 9.15 pm the gala concert of the prize-winning groups will follow.

The evening will end at about 11 pm with the expected announcement of the winners of the 31st Grand Prix Seghizzi and the farewell to the edition of the “Seghizzi 2020”, the year in which the centenary of the prestigious musical and cultural history of the Seghizzi Association.

Today, Saturday 20 July, the “Seghizzi” day opens in Gorizia at 10 am in the Galleria Seghizzi in Corso Verdi 85, with the official meeting between organization, intermational delegations, choirs, jury, guests. In the afternoon, again in Gorizia, at 2.00 pm, the 58th Seghizzi International Choral Singing Competition continues in the Teatro Verdi with the categories of popular music, traditional, jazz, negro spiritual, blues. It can be said with absolute certainty that it will be a fascinating show full of surprises: 18 performances by 12 choirs from Indonesia, Bulgaria, Japan, Ukraine, the Philippines, Spain, Italy, Austria, Lithuania, Canada. Eight hours of music and dancing that will allow us a musical journey (free) all over the world and in many cultures, not only musical.

Today, Thursday 18 July, the international Seghizzi events offer interesting concert opportunities with four free admission musical events of the 17th Seghizzinregione festival. At 8.45 pm in Faedis (UD), in the church of Santa Maria Assunta concert by the Children’s Choir Lastivka (Kiev, Ukraine) by the Choir Gianni De Luca. At 20.30 in Campolongo (UD) in the Hall of the Municipal Palace concert of the Matsue Plover Children’s Choir (Matsue, Japan) by the Municipal Administration. At 9.00 pm in the Torriani Palace in Gradisca D’Isonzo (GO) a concert by the Manuel de Torres de Almoradi Choir (Alicante, Spain) by the Pro Loco of Gradisca. And finally, at 9.00 pm in the Formentini Castle in San Floriano del Collio (GO), a concert by the ensemble Horus Vocals (Austria-Lithuania) by Chef Massimo De Belli / Enoteca dell’Impero.

Today, Wednesday 17 July, at 3.30 pm in Gorizia in the Galleria Seghizzi of Corso Verdi 85 continues the 17th international contest of solo chamber music with the final phase (repertoire of the XIX-XX centuries). At this stage the twelve singers are admitted, who yesterday passed the semi-finals: Antonaglia Raffaele Johannes, Bi Lika, Camponovo Paola, Ciuffreda Maria Carmen, Colombera Selena, Han Zhengji, Karginova Kamilla, Miura Ayako, Netunaeva Olga, Ohki Hitomi, Pregelj Rebeka, Raden Silvija. To the international jury chaired by Eugeniusz Kus (Poland) and composed by Pietro Ferrario (Italy); Rachid Safir (France); Josè Herrero (Spain); Ignacio Tristan Caliston (Philippines) the difficult task of selecting the six winners, who will be announced and awarded in the evening at 9:00 pm always in the Seghizzi Gallery. The evening will conclude with the gala concert of the winning singers. Free admission.
