B.A. History of Art and Diploma in Education, specialising in Music, from the University of La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain. Director of Camerata Lacunensis since 2000, a chamber choir from La Laguna, with which he has obtained some 30 prizes, both national and international, in recent years. He also conducts historicist groups specialising in Renaissance and Baroque music. As conductor or chorus master, he has recorded a number of CDs with music ranging from the Renaissance to twenty-first century compositions. He has performed and recorded for the first time hitherto unpublished works from the archive of La Laguna cathedral. He has produced several first performances of choral music by composers including Dante Andreo, Andres Malachevski, Alessandro Cadario and Javier Busto. He is frequently asked to give workshops and courses. In 2012 and 2014 he served as a member of the international jury at the International Seghizzi Choral Competition, Italy. As a composer, he has produced a number of performances of his own works and arrangements, and his work “La tarde sobre los tejados” (Evening over the Rooftops), for mixed choir, with text by Pablo Neruda, was declared “A Work of Special Interest” at the 8th Amadeus International Composition Competition of Puebla de la Calzada, Badajoz, a work which has now been performed for the first time by the Portuguese choir Coro Sacro. Other choirs have also sung his choral works and arrangements.
